Beyblade is a popular series of battling spinning tops and an entertainment franchise created by the Japanese toy maker Takara. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Japanese game beigoma, the first modern Beyblade launched in Japan in July 1999, accompanied by a manga adaptation. The original top was known as “Spin Dragoon”, also referred to as “Ultimate Dragoon.”
